My Human Identity Was Exposed by an Evil Spirit Wife~

Chapter71

In a sense, they all shared the same goal.
Do whatever it takes to survive!
The two walked through the black night for over two hours. In the cold white moonlight, Ya could see the ground spattered with fresh, steaming blood, and scattered severed limbs, still bleeding.
The hunt never stopped at night, yet the two of them remained safe for now.
Distant human screams and the cawing of crows above their heads mixed together—it was impossible to tell which belonged to which.
Ya walked alongside Jiang Che, choosing not to be in front or behind him.
In a place this dangerous, walking single file was the worst option.
You never knew when the person behind you might vanish, or when you'd be watching someone's back and silently get dragged into the dark.
Unlike Jiang Che, Ya couldn't control herself from anxiously looking all around.
Maybe it was just her imagination, but she kept feeling there was a shadow lurking nearby, stalking them like a haunting ghost who wouldn't relent.
But whenever she looked closely, there was nothing there.
Ya knew—they'd probably run into an evil spirit again.
"Did you see someone over there?" Ya moved a few steps closer to Jiang Che, not daring to stray far from him.
"Where?" Jiang Che looked where she pointed, confused.
It was only then, looking around, that he noticed they'd unwittingly walked into a strange graveyard. The "houses" here resembled villas, and in the yards out front, tombstones grew in clusters like plants.
Pale gray mist swirled over the tombstones, and a soft rustling came from within the fog.
Where Ya pointed, you could vaguely see a figure hiding in the mist. When they looked over, it quickly ducked out of sight.
"See? Isn't there someone there?!" Ya crowded in next to Jiang Che, speaking excitedly but keeping her voice down.
